Me at a swanky bar called Peoples 7
To get into Peoples 7, you have to know that night's 'code'. You have to put your hands in the correct holes for the door to open. We were cool enough to be in the know that night, so we got in no probs!
This is one of the HUGE buildings at the World Expo in Shanghai.
This was China's building. To give it some scale, look at the next picture. It is a close up of the 2 escalators that access the building. We didn't get to go into it, as the line was 3 hours long!
This was Turkey's building
This is Ben inside the UK building. Each of these squares were the end of plastic rods that continued to the outside of the building. The next picture is Ben outside the building. It looked like a giant porcupine.
Egypt and South Africa
This was the Netherlands building. It was a lot of fun
France
Brazil was a fun building
Mmmm, many of the country's buildings had food available that were their country's specialties. This was a Canadian dish called poutine. It was chips (fries) with gravy and cheese curds. Yummy!
This was Mexico's pavillion. They were having a hooting time!
This was inside Spaind building. It is a huge movie screen
This is now the tallest building in Shanghai and China. It dwarfs the Jinmao Tower, which used to be the tallest
This is a very nervous Ben on the 100th floor of the tallest building
This is the Jinmao Tower from the tallest building
Me and Hai Bao, the Expo mascot.
Nanjing Lu (street)
View from the Bund. This is looking over into the Pudong side of Shanghai
The building in the back that looks like a giant bottle opener is the tallest building from the earlier pictures. Huge!!
